The double room at POA Eco Hostel was amazing! It had a private bathroom with a shower, which was super convenient. As a light sleeper, I loved that the room was equipped with air conditioning and heating, ensuring a comfortable stay. The bed linen and bath towels provided were a nice touch too.
The shared bathroom facilities in this room were not my favorite. But hey, everyone has different preferences, so some guests might still find it enjoyable.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and willing to assist in every way. I felt sooo welcome. My friend had to cancel one night with short notice and was not charged. We were travelling in the evening but were told that we can check out but stay in the communal areas and use the cooking facilities and the shower for as long as we needed. I did not feel well on the day and could not go sightseeing as I planned and I very much appreciated their generous offer. The communal and outside spaces were excellent, and they have a small pool to.
I liked it all!

Porto Alegre Eco Hostel is probably one of the best hostel in POA. Great location close to the main restaurant/pub/club strip, new & tidy facilities, sturdy & comfy beds, large rooms with views, clean bathrooms, and vibrant crowd all contributed in making my stay memorable. This hostel also has a terrific husband/wife management team, that go out of their way to make everyone feel at home! Many thanks to (Super) Mario for his recommendations on POA, as well as rest of South America! Alex
Really there's nothing I can criticize, maybe adding a few fruits & juice to the breakfast would be nice, since they taste so delicious in Brazil!

The staff were really friendly and helpful! They made me feel welcome and were always there to assist with anything I needed. The location was also great, with a big supermarket and lots of restaurants nearby. It was convenient to have everything I needed within walking distance. the hostel had a nice garden with a small swimming pool. It was a nice place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
There were a few negatives during my stay. the kitchen was quite small, making it a bit difficult to prepare meals.

I absolutely loved my stay at Poa Eco! I was in Porto Alegre for a week and the hostel was the perfect base for exploring the city. The location in Cidade Baixa was fantastic, with plenty of bars and restaurants just a minute away. The staff and other guests were incredibly friendly, and the staff spoke excellent English. The hostel had a great common area and a living room with a TV, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The room was clean and spacious, with lockers, AC, and all the necessary amenities. The sheets smelled fresh and the bathroom was clean with a big shower. The backyard with its tables, swimming pool, and hammocks felt like a little oasis.
I do recommend this hotel.
